Hi, it's Tina from Top Practices Virtual Practice Management Institute. Today, I want to talk to you about employee expectations. Do you know that clear expectations are the most basic fundamental employee need? Employees who strongly agree that their job description aligns with the work that they do are two and a half times more likely to be employees who become engaged at work. And we know that employees who are engaged are more productive overall.

If people don't know what is expected, a lot of times office managers just say, well, I'll just tell them. But helping employees understand what the manager's expectation, the practice's expectation is of them, requires more than just telling them. The most effective managers define and discuss explicit and implicit expectations for each employee.

They paint a picture of what outstanding performance looks like and they help their employees to recognize how their job helps their co-workers and helps the overall practice to be successful. If you'd like to discuss employee expectations a little bit more, just email me at [email protected].

Bye, and have a great day.
